Nasceu em Cremona (a mesma Cremona de Stradivarius), provavelmente, no dia 15 de Maio de 1567. Se tivéssemos de atribuir a paternidade da ópera e do bel canto a alguém... seria, seguramente, a Monteverdi. A ouvir, sempre...
